Thrive Awarded New Trust for Civic Life Grant for Regional Collaboration

Thrive Regional Partnership (Thrive) has been selected to receive a 2025 Civic Hub grant from the Trust for Civic Life, a national grantmaker that supports local groups and projects in rural communities.
The funding will allow Thrive to continue to create opportunities for community members to connect and work together on the issues they care about in the tri-state region.
Over the three-year program, Thrive staff will take part in a national learning cohort, building knowledge and collaborating with civic organizations from across the country.
We are honored to be recognized as a Civic Hub by the Trust for Civic Life and to join a national network of organizations building stronger communities. This investment will allow us to deepen our work connecting residents, leaders, and ideas across the tri-state region—continuing to create opportunities for people to come together, collaborate, and solve the issues that matter most to them." -Bridgett Massengill, President/CEO, Thrive Regional Partnership
The Trust for Civic Life’s Civic Hub program awards $8M each year across rural America to a handful of “Civic Hubs” - local organizations that act as connectors and capacity builders in their regions. From bringing residents together to reach a shared vision to connecting people around their interest areas like the arts, land use, or education, these groups are creating opportunities and spaces for collaboration and problem-solving at the local level.

New sources of national funding like the Civic Hub grant program are needed to empower the progress and innovation that exists in rural communities across the country. We can’t wait to put this grant to work in communities across northeast Alabama, northwest Georgia, and southeast Tennessee.
Thrive looks forward to partnering with the Trust for Civic Life to make it possible for residents and leaders across the tri-state to participate in local and regional civic life and work together to tackle the community issues they care about. Stay tuned for updates about this project over the next year.
