Thrive Regional Partnership, in collaboration with the Open Space Institute, is now accepting applications for the 2026 Resilient Communities program, a unique opportunity for cities and towns across the 16-county Chattanooga region to strengthen their resilience to extreme weather events.

Resilient Communities equips local teams with professional guidance, facilitation, and technical assistance to assess vulnerabilities, set priorities, and design nature-based strategies that harness local expertise and natural assets. The program is made possible through funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and is offered at no cost to participating communities.

Who can apply? Organizations that bring people together—such as nonprofits, faith-based groups, libraries, and neighborhood associations—are encouraged to apply. Eligible applicants must be based in the 16-county greater Chattanooga region. Combined applications will be considered.

If you have any questions about the Resilient Communities program or the application process, please contact Elizabeth Wells, Regional Outreach Liaisonat ewells@thriveregion.org.
