Tech Goes Home Expands Digital Skills Access Across Tri-State Region

Thrive and Tech Goes Home Expand Digital Skills across the Tri-State.
Thrive Regional Partnership is partnering with The Enterprise Center to expand the Tech Goes Home program to teach digital skills in communities across southeast Tennessee, northwest Georgia, and northeast Alabama.
The expansion of Tech Goes Home will bring digital skills training, connectivity support, and devices to 1,500 residents over the next 5 years, helping bridge critical digital access gaps in southern Appalachia.
Through its digital opportunity program, Tech Goes Home Tennessee delivers hands-on digital skills training, equipping participants with devices and support to access affordable internet. By training local community members to lead these workshops, the program creates a sustainable, lasting impact — empowering residents to pursue education, employment, telehealth, and civic engagement.
Tech Goes Home offers a variety of digital skills courses for different community members, such as: entrepreneurs and small business owners, older adults, students of various school levels, Spanish-speakers, and more.
“Digital access is no longer optional—it’s essential,” said Melissa Callejas, Program Director of Tech Goes Home Tennessee. “Through this partnership with Thrive Regional Partnership and the ARC ARISE award, we are expanding our reach across the tri-state region to ensure more families have the skills, tools, and confidence they need to fully participate in today’s digital world.”
“We are proud to partner with The Enterprise Center and the Appalachian Regional Commission to expand the scale of this program," said Shannon Millsaps, Chief Operating Officer of Thrive Regional Partnership. "Expanding Tech Goes Home Tennessee across the tri-state means more residents will have access to the digital skills and resources that are essential to participating in today's economy — and we are committed to making that opportunity a reality.
This expansion is made possible by a $2.87 million federal grant awarded to Thrive Regional Partnership by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) under the Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE), which advances large-scale, collaborative economic transformation across the Appalachian region. This federal investment represents 56% of the total $5.13 million project cost of Thrive's Regional Resource Hub — an initiative that expands community leadership, capacity programs, and data resources across the tri-state, greater Chattanooga region.
