Connected Communities Workshop: Affordable Connectivity Program Launch

  • Cleveland State Community College 3535 Adkisson Drive Cleveland, TN, 37312 United States (map)

Join us in Cleveland, TN to kick-off the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) in the Thrive region! The ACP is a Federal Communications Commission program that helps connect families and households to affordable internet service.

At this event, community members can learn about opportunities to enroll in the program and begin to build grassroots actions around broadband accessibility through an interactive workshop.

Strong local action comes from an inclusive network of people from diverse backgrounds and areas of your community. We recommend registering 4-5 people to lay the groundwork for inclusive, grassroots momentum. Consider inviting someone from:

  • the business community

  • a nonprofit organization

  • an anchor institution, such as a school or library

  • the healthcare sector

What you can expect:

Good coffee and networking opportunities

  • Learn how to register residents for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) in your community

  • An interactive “next steps” workshop to engage your community around local connectivity challenges

  • Learn how you can partner with Thrive to make your community, and this region, more connected

In-person registrations are limited to 50 people, but the kick-off event will be streamed on YouTube. We will be visiting communities to advance this work in the coming months.

If you already have a group gathered, please contact Shannon Millsaps for group registration (smillsaps@thriveregion.org).
