After graduating from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, Kelly decided to leave the cold winters and flat landscapes of the Midwest for a new adventure. Eventually landing in Sewanee, TN she spent two years as a member of the South Cumberland Americorps VISTA Program with the University of the South and the South Cumberland Community Fund.

During her time on Monteagle mountain, Kelly coordinated a free summer meal program for kids and teens and implemented capacity building efforts for the Grundy County Food Bank. She also served as the team leader for the project managing over 30 VISTA members throughout the year by working to meet their various programmatic needs. Before joining Thrive, Kelly worked with the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga where she provided support to grant making and scholarship programs.

Kelly has a deep rooted passion for public service, education and ice-cream. In her free time she enjoys teaching yoga classes around Chattanooga, long-distance running and attempting to make pottery as a member of Scenic City Clay Arts. Kelly is thrilled to be part of Thrive and continuing to give back to a place which has become such an important part of her life.
