Edna continues as a champion of the Thrive Regional Partnership after serving as chair of the education committee during the three-year Thrive 2055 planning initiative. A former teacher and principal, she currently serves as Senior Advisor for Leading and Learning at the Hamilton County Public Education Foundation. In 2007 and 2009 she represented PEF, speaking to the US Senate Education Committee on changes to No Child Left Behind and Improved Transitions from High School to College. For three years she wrote the leadership column for the National Middle School Association publication, Middle Ground, and she has spoken at national and international conferences on the subject of education reform. Her board service includes the advisory board of Hamilton County’s Future Ready Institute for Teaching and Learning, Vice Chair of the Chattanooga State Community College Foundation, Vice Chair of Siskin Children’s Institute, past board chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, and former member of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) Chancellor’s Advisory Committee.
