Charles Wood currently serves as the Chief Economic Development Officer for the Greater Chattanooga Economic Partnership (GCEP). Before coming to Chattanooga, Charles held economic development positions in Pensacola, Florida, College Station, Texas and Mobile, Alabama. During his almost 20 year career in economic development Charles has led marketing, recruitment and expansion efforts resulting in thousands of jobs created by dozens of companies including Hewlett Packard, Mellon Financial, and Volkswagen. He holds a Masters Degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi, completed Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and holds the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council. Charles and his wife Angie live in downtown Chattanooga and have one grown son.
