Beth is the Executive Director of the Southeast Tennessee Development District (SETDD) and Southeast Industrial Development Association (SEIDA), a position she has held since 2006. SETDD is a special purpose unit of government, which shares a staff to cost effectively plan and implement programs resulting in development and improvement of the southeast region of the Tennessee River Valley Basin in Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina. Before that she was the Deputy Director of Planning & Economic Development, the Economic Development Director, and a Regional Planner/Project Administrator for SETDD. Beth also served as an Administrative Assistant to U.S. Senator James Sasser from 1978-1993. Beth has a B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she majored in Biology and English. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1977. She went back to UTC in 1993 for a Masters Course in Public Administration and Business Finance. Beth is a member of the Tennessee Economic Development Council, Georgia Economic Development Association, North Carolina Economic Development Association, United Methodist Women, Chattanooga Junior League, and Chattanooga Tennis Association. She is married to Sam Jones and has two children: Staci and Will.
