The Thrive Regional Partnership welcomes the president of McKee Foods, Mike McKee, as we celebrate the growth and success of our 16-county region and recognize the people and organizations that are helping us take action on your vision for the future. We will also announce the community participants in THRIVE's next round of Thriving Communities, the highly successful creative placemaking project that has sparked $1.5 million in community investments in our region's communities.
Keynote speaker Mike McKee is part the third McKee generation to own and manage the family of brands that started with Little Debbie Snack Cakes in 1934. Since then, McKee Foods has grown from a three-person bakery, owned by his grandparents, to a group of companies that provides a livelihood for more than 6,000 employees and has annual sales in excess of $1 billion.
In addition to their highly-publicized sponsorship of Chattanooga's annual Little Debbie Ironman competition, McKee Foods' Outdoor Happiness Movement has funded outdoor recreation-based projects in 25 states, with the goal of suppporting a project in all 50 states.
All ticket sales and sponsorships support the Thrive Regional Partnership's efforts to strengthen our region's communities, find innovative education and transportation solutions,
and protect the region's natural treasures.
