July 19, 2017
The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, led by President/CEO Bill Kilbride, also a Thrive Regional Partnership Trustee, racked up national awards at the annual American Chamber of Commerce Executives conference, which was held at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee July 17-19, 2017.
The Chattanooga Chamber's efforts to support the TRP and specific outcomes from the Thrive 2055 planning process resulted in several awards, including the Chamber of the Year, an Award for Communications Excellence for the Greater Chattanooga Economic Partnership website, and a Chamber Executive certification for TRP Trustee and Chattanooga Chamber V.P. of Finance, Cheryl Millsaps.
The ACCE awards are given each year to recognize excellence in operations, member services and community leadership. The highly competetive 2017 application process involved 41 organizations from 23 states and the Cayman Islands.
"Working with Thrive Regional Partnership prepared me well for this chamber leadership credential by honing my abilities to focus on the future, identify opportunities and amplify my impact through leveraging other's efforts," said Millsaps. Millsaps, a native of Polk County, Tennessee, has been intimately involved in the work of Thrive since its inception.
The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce has been essential to the success of the Thrive 2055 planning initiative and the formation of the TRP. We are honored to have contributed to these national accolades and look forward to our continued partnership.
